This year looks very different for Hannah's Helpers as I will be the only one walking. However, just because I am walking alone doesn't mean we've given up or Hannah's fighting alone... life just gets busy! Finding a cure still means A LOT to us and we are hoping you will help me reach my goal :)
As for a Hannah update: she had her 2nd hospital stay just 3 weeks before she headed off for her freshman year at the University of Rhode Island! It was trying, but also alleviated some nerves as we feel she was sent off in the best health possible :) She had a fantastic first year, (academically and joined the club dance team), and is finally back home where we love having her! We are also happy that she has decided to stay home and commute to SNHU for the rest of her education. Music to mom and dad's ears!
For those that do not know, CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF can make it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis has their own unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
If you would like to be part of our fight for a cure, you can do so by donating and helping me reach my goal. Together we can make a difference and find a cure for everyone with CF.
Hannah has a bright future ahead of her and we are doing our best to make sure it is the LONGEST and HEALTHIEST one she can have. :)
