Dear Family and Friends,
The kids have had a fantastic year! They have grown and remained healthy. We are so thankful for the time we have with them, and you are a large part of that blessing! Because of you, there is Trikafta. Each of the kids is able to take Trikafta and is tolerating it well. It has made such a huge difference in how well they handle respiratory infections and given them more time to just enjoy being kids. Joshua and Emma have been able to decrease the number of medications they take, and Ezra hasn't even needed to start taking some of the ones Joshua and Emma used to take yet!
Joshua is 18 and a senior in high school this year. He has been accepted into a trade program to become a mechanic. The kid eats and breathes all things cars. BMWs are his current favorite to work on. We are so proud of the young man he is becoming and cannot wait to watch as he gets to pursue his passion this August! Emma is 16 and learned to drive this year. She is currently learning to master the art of driving a manual transmission in preparation for joining her dad and brother in racing! Ezra is almost 4 years old, and has really blossomed in his preschool program. He is such a joy to all who meet him. We love watching him as he plays with his cars and trucks. See a theme here?? Fast cars just might run in the Philbrick blood. When we ride together, he always says, "Go faster Auntie!"
We are beyond thankful for your continued support. We have a lofty goal of raising $19,000 this year as it is our family's 19th year walking to cure CF. Even though our kiddos are able to thrive and benefit directly from Trikafta, there are far too many with CF who cannot. Also Trikafta is not a cure, and the kids still need to take several medications and do their breathing treatments multiple times a day. We will not rest until there is a cure! Will you join us yet again in our fight? We appreciate it from the more than we can say. Words simply cannot express how grateful we are. It certainly has been surreal watching Joshua turn 18 and be able to pursue his life goals without inhibition. When Joshua was born, less than 40% of people with CF lived to be 18. It is not lost on us what a miracle we have been given. We give thanks to God for the miracle of these three lives, and we thank each of you for your prayers and support which have given our miracles more time with us.
Until CF stands for Cure Found,
Josh, Liz, Joshua and Emma
Peter, Alisa, and Ezra
