They say it takes a village, but what about tribe?
Have you met our Lenna Rose, well if you have you know she is a feisty, happy, smart, loving little girl who loves to make you laugh when you need it the most. Another thing about our Lenna is she was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) when we were 16 weeks pregnant with her, not something expecting parents want to hear. Lenna has never let CF stop her or define her, she has and continues to be our brave CF warrior.
What is Cystic Fibrosis (CF) you ask? Simply put CF is a non-contagious genetic disease that causes a buildup of thick sticky mucus in the lungs, it also affects the
digestive system, sweat glands and reproductive system. People who have CF and are not treated lose 2% of their lung function every year. But, with new studies and
medication coming out people with CF are beginning to live longer with the disease.
While the CF Foundation has made incredible progress, not everyone with CF can benefit from existing therapies and we still need a cure. This will require time, funding, and persistence – but with you in our tribe – we are ready to go the distance.
