My Great Strides Story

Roni Graham
I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis in 1980s at the age of two, when the average life expectancy for someone with CF was a bleak 30 years or less. Over the past four decades, I've witnessed extraordinary scientific progress that has transformed CF from a childhood disease into a condition that many of us now manage well into adulthood. This didn't happen by chance. It happened through sustained investment in CF research, clinical trials, and innovative treatments that have given me and thousands of others the gift of time and quality of life.
We're now at an incredible turning point where CF could one day be a condition that doesn't define or limit our lives. But we're not there yet, and continued research funding is critical to making this vision a reality for everyone with CF, especially those who don't yet benefit from existing treatments. By supporting Great Strides, you're investing in a future where people with cystic fibrosis can live normal, healthy lives filled with the same opportunities as anyone else.
