My Xtreme Hike Story

There are many reasons for my involvement with Xtreme Hike the past few years. Generally speaking, there is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m hiking to help change that reality.
The reason closest to my heart, and the primary reason for my involvement though, is the fact that my 7-year old daughter, Finley, lives with CF, and so obviously I have the highest incentive possible in which to be involved with a fundraiser in support of the disease. It just so happens that I truly enjoy hiking too, and so combining the inspiration Finley naturally provides me along with my other friends and family with direct ties to CF who continue to inspire me, I have all the fuel and motivation I need while taking to the trails.

Another main reason as to why I 'Hike' can be highlighted by the tremendous advancements and positive results in medicines and care for CF patients just in these first seven years of my daughter's life. We are seeing these amazing medical results develop right in front of our eyes, thanks in large part to the efforts in fundraising that are in integral part in allowing events such as Xtreme Hike to take place. We have come a long way, but there is of course still much that needs to be done for all CFers before CF will stand for Cure Found.
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF!!
