Our Xtreme Hike Story
Johnie Ferro
This August, Johnie and Eric will hike over 20 miles through Mt. Hood National Forest in the CFF Xtreme Hike Challenge.
Cystic fibrosis became an undeniable part of their lives in 2013 when Rylee was diagnosed at just two weeks old. Two years later, Johnie also learned she has CF, though her case is much milder. Over the years they have both fought, especially Rylee. She has spent more than 100 nights in the hospital, taken countless medications, and never misses a breathing treatment.
In 11 years, the family has seen incredible progress. Life expectancy has nearly doubled, and new treatments have given them hope. But CF remains a relentless disease with no cure, and too many people are still waiting for life-changing treatments.
That’s why Johnie and Eric hike. That's why they fight!
They need support to fund critical research so that one day, every person with CF can live without hospital stays, pills, and fear.
Please donate today so Johnie, Rylee and the rest of the world can live without cystic fibrosis.
