My CF Climb Story
Fundraising for Portland Firefighter Stairclimb Challenge
Jasper Stenstrom
Once again, I am heading to Portland to take on the Firefighter Stairclimb, climbing 40 flights of stairs in full turnout gear and an SCBA. I climb in honor of Carson and Brandon, two incredible individuals who have faced the daily challenges of cystic fibrosis (CF).
This year, I plan to defend my title and, as always, embrace the suck because no one should fight alone.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic, life-shortening disease that attacks the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It makes it hard to breathe and fight off infections, often leading to lung damage, respiratory failure, and tragically, shortened lives. While every person with CF faces a unique journey, one reality remains the same: there is still no cure.
I climb to help change that reality. Each step I take represents hope, progress, and the fight for a future where no one loses their life to CF.
Will you join me in this mission? By supporting my fundraising efforts, you can help drive the research and breakthroughs needed to bring us closer to a cure and to give every person with CF a better chance at a long, healthy life.
