First year at Providence College is in the books! A big shout out to Cael's Cystic Fibrosis care team members at the Boston Children's Hospital Adult CF Program who set him up for success at college despite his living with this life-shortening disease. There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality. Money raised goes towards developing life-saving treatments (like the CFTR modulator medicine Cael takes daily), supporting CF care centers across the country for children and adults with this rare disease, and finding a cure!
When Cael was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at four months old, many of these newer treatments didn't exist and Craig and I really didn't know if Cael would live long enough to go to college. CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for Cael and others fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
