Emma continues her journey at Carlow University, bravely balancing the demands of college life with the challenges of cystic fibrosis. While Trikafta has helped her breathe a little easier, it hasn’t had the life-changing impact for her that it has had for others. Like many with CF, Emma also battles diabetes and persistent antibiotic-resistant infections.

This year, TEAM EMMA is once again joining the Cystic Fibrosis Breathe Team. Don and I are lacing up our running shoes to raise funds and awareness—because progress has been made, but we’re not there yet.

The CF Foundation has made incredible strides in research and treatment, but not every person with CF can benefit from the current therapies. A cure is still urgently needed. Getting there will take time, funding, and unrelenting dedication—and we’re ready to go the distance.
