My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Philadelphia Great Strides 2026
Therese Walsh
Losing my brother, Andrew, on January 1, 2025, to cystic fibrosis changed my life forever. As his sister, I witnessed both his strength and the unimaginable challenges of this disease. I’m walking in his memory—and to help create a future where no family has to experience this kind of loss.
There is still no cure for cystic fibrosis, and far too many people with CF are taken too soon. It’s a genetic, life-shortening disease that impacts the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs, making it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections.
Every person with CF has their own journey. While there has been meaningful progress, too many are still fighting every day for their lives. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has the chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us honor my brother and end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising efforts, you are helping advance the research and science needed to move us closer to a cure—for every person, and every family, affected by CF.
