My Great Strides Story
Michael Dishaw Jr
Fundraising for Pittsburgh Great Strides
Michael Dishaw Jr
As many of you know, my sister Nicole was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) at the age of 2 1/2 years old (1988). At that time, they didn’t know the exact cause of the disease and we were told that the life expectancy for someone with CF was 19 years old.
Nicole is now 39 years old largely due to the amazing medical care she’s received and the massive advancements in medical research (largely funded by the CF Foundation)! Although Nicole has enjoyed relatively good health for most of her life, the disease has gradually taken its toll.
I walk for my sister Nicole and the approximately 40,000 other Americans living with Cystic Fibrosis. They are moms, dads, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, friends, and co-workers who struggle every day just to breathe. I walk for them and hope you will support me in my efforts.
Real progress has been made in the search for a cure, but the lives of people with CF are still cut far too short. There still is no cure for this devastating disease and I will not stop fundraising until a cure is found. I know you all have many demands for your hard-earned money, but I hope you will consider a donation of any amount to support our cause. If you would like to make a donation of any amount, click here: https://fundraise.cff.org/Pittsburgh2025/MikeDishawJr
Your gift is 100-percent tax deductible.
The CF Foundation is leading the way in the fight against CF, fueling extraordinary medical and scientific progress. With support from people like us, their research has led the way in the last 30 years to doubling the life expectancy of those with CF. Despite this progress, many patients cannot benefit from treatments. We are joining together so that one day they will have a cure for all of those living with cystic fibrosis. If you would like more information on cystic fibrosis, you can go to www.cff.org
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
