Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.  Charlie (the reason I walk) is 15 now and doing quite well.  He's active with his school's Jazz Band, Cross-Country Track Team and the other things that make life fun at that age.

Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease.   The research to-date has helped people like Charlie have some hope for their future.  In the 1980s, few people born with CF made it past their teens.  By 2019, the median survival age for those born that year was reported as 48.4 years!   Donations fund research, and research extends lives.

So many of you have been so very generous for the 15 years that I've been supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and raising money to fund research for people like Charlie and his family.
