CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure. Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently.
Louise Katherine Gallagher was diagosed with cystic fibrosis at just ten days old. She has been treated by the CT care team at Yale New Haven hospital since her diagnosis'. Lucy takes multiple medications daily and spends 30 minutes everyday doing lung/respitory therapy. We are diligent as a family to help keep Lucy as healthy and safe as possible, but with no cure this will be a disease Lucy has to face daily.
While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We hope you will donate to our team to help us to end cystic fibrosis for everyone who is affected and for Lucy.
