My Great Strides: Walking for a Future Without Cystic Fibrosis
Fundraising for Rochester Great Strides
Kendra Decker
On May 18th, I'm once again participating in the Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides walk, and my purpose is as strong as ever: to walk for my incredible brother, Adam. Every step I take is fueled by the unwavering hope for a brighter future, not just for him, but for the thousands of individuals and families impacted by cystic fibrosis.
Participating in the Great Strides walk is more than just an event; it's a powerful symbol of hope. It represents our collective belief in a future where individuals can live without the relentless worry about their health. I dream of a day when he doesn't have to take multiple pills with every meal or live with the anxiety of potential flare-ups and hospital stays. I envision a world where his tomorrow is defined by his dreams and aspirations, not by the limitations of cystic fibrosis.
Our family's involvement in Great Strides walks has created cherished memories – moments of unity, joy, and a powerful reminder of the strength of our community. It's inspiring to witness the collective determination to find a cure.
This year, I invite you to join me – whether by walking alongside me on May 18th or by making a meaningful donation to my fundraising efforts. Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's vital research, care centers, and advocacy programs. Together, we can transform hope into tangible progress and make cystic fibrosis a thing of the past.
Thank you for your generosity and for standing with me in this important cause. Your support means the world to me and to Adam.
