My Great Strides Story
Kyle Palmer
Kyle Palmer
Four years ago, a colleague nominated me to take part in the Rochester's Finest program. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation invested in me as a young professional through seminars with local leadership and professional development opportunities. I have been able to learn more about cystic fibrosis and those that it impacts in my local community and beyond. Since being an honoree of the Rochester's Finest program, I have continued to stay involved in the Rochester's Finest committee to continue the growth of the program, leading the local Tomorrow's Leaders of WNY and becoming a board member to continue my support of the WNY chapter. To cap this off, I never knew anyone suffering from cystic fibrosis up until my involvement with the the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation until I participated with the Rochester's Finest program. Seeing those that it impacts and hearing their stories continues to motivate me to support the foundation to find a cure.
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
