My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Santa Barbara Great Strides 2026
Jenifer Sanregret (Vance's Mom)
When Vance was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis, our family entered a world we never expected to navigate.
Suddenly, we were learning about lung function, pancreatic enzymes, airway clearance, insurance approvals, specialist appointments, and the daily routines required to keep a child healthy. What many people don't realize is that cystic fibrosis isn't just a lung disease—it's a complex, lifelong condition that affects multiple organs and requires constant management.
And while we are incredibly fortunate to live in a time of groundbreaking treatments and research, there is still no cure.
Every day, people with CF and their families do the work: treatments before school, medications with every meal, clinic visits, hospital stays, and the uncertainty that comes with a progressive disease. There are still individuals who don't benefit from the newest therapies, and there are still too many families waiting for the breakthrough that will change everything.
That's why we continue to support Great Strides.
We walk for Vance and for every person living with cystic fibrosis. We walk for the friends we've met along the way, for the families just beginning this journey, and for those who have lost loved ones to this disease. We walk because the progress we've seen has been made possible by research, advocacy, and a community that refuses to give up.
Most of all, we walk because we believe a cure is within reach.
If you're able, I would be honored if you would support our Great Strides team. Your donation helps fund critical research, care, advocacy, and support programs that are changing lives and bringing us closer to a future where cystic fibrosis no longer limits what is possible.
Thank you for standing with our family and helping create that future.
