My Great Strides Story
Robert Boisselle
Fundraising for Sarasota Great Strides 2026
Robert Boisselle
Hi there...
This Cystic Fibrosis Foundation "Great Strides" Walk (2026) will be my 24th and final one. For the past two dozen years, I have been walking to help lengthen the lives of those born with CF...especially for my granddaughter, Emily. I am happy to report that she is doing well and finishing up her third year at the University of Florida School of Pharmacy. One more year and she will have her Doctor of Pharmacy Degree!
Over the years, I have included a current picture of Emily. This year, you see a picture of a QUILT...not just any quilt...a very special one. My cousin Bill's wife Bonnie has been creating beautiful quilts for most of her life. When Bill used to walk in the Dana Farber Walk, in Boston, he would offer up one of Bonnie's quilts as a prize to one of his donors as a raffle prize for their participation in his fundraising efforts.
Bonnie and Bill gave me a quilt a couple of years back, to offer as a prize to one of my CFF Donors. I have saved it for this, my final Great Strides Walk. So, everyone who donates to my effort will be entered into a drawing and when the walk is completed (Oct. 17), we'll draw a name and present this beautiful, handcrafted quilt.
When this CFF walk is held, I will be 77 years old...and although I have been blessed with good health, it is time to retire. I don't have an exact figure, but over the years, my friends and family have contributed over $50,000 to the CFF cause. Research has produced life changing and life saving drugs and therapies that have extended the lives of thousands of people affected by CF. Thanks to you, Emily is one of those fortunate CF patients.
I'm sending this request out to anyone and everyone who has contributed, in the past (and a few new folks, too).
Thanks for your support of my efforts for Emily. I hope you win the quilt.
To donate, simply click on the link to my personal page...or, if you prefer, send a check made out to "CFF" to me at:
