My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Seattle Great Strides
Margaret Irribarra Swanson
When our sweet Freya came into the world, we were already parents to two non-CF kids and bracing ourselves for an extra layer of chaos. What we weren’t prepared for was the unexpected diagnosis: Cystic Fibrosis.
The journey of learning what this would mean for her—and for our whole family—has been filled with so many emotions. Beyond the initial grief of this new reality, one of the strongest feelings I had was immense gratitude. Gratitude for the families who came before us, the ones who fought tirelessly for research, for better treatments, and for the dream of a cure.
Now, we want to be one of those families for someone else. We want to do our part to push medical advancements forward and, maybe one day, help make a cure possible.
Thank you for being part of this fight with us! We welcome you joining our team and walking with us, or we welcome any donations, small or big!
About CF:
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
