As many of you may know Valentina and Violet have Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic lung disease that affects the lungs, digestive system, as well as other organs. As a result Valentina has been hospitalized multiple times in the past due to lung infections and Violet has undergone a total of 5 abdominal surgeries due to this disease. Both my girls are on multiple medications and respiratory treatments to keep them healthy. Thanks to the CF foundation and all who support it, the FDA approved a medication known as Trikafta, which has greatly improved Valentina and Violet's health. Although Trikafta has improved their overall health, it is not a cure for CF. Unfortunately, not all CF patients qualify for this treatment. As it is only for those who have a delta F508 mutation. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides event helps spread awareness and raise funds for further research with the hopes of finding a cure. Donations to the CF Foundation is greatly appreciated.
