My Great Strides Story
Fundraising for Suffolk County Great Strides
Christine Kauffmann
Dear Friends and Family,
I'm writing to invite you to join us for a cause that's very close to my heart: the upcoming Cystic Fibrosis Walkathon to support my son Brendon's fight against Cystic Fibrosis. There is currently no cure for CF and too many young people with CF die young. I'm walking to help change that reality.
As many of you know, my son has been living with CF his entire life. At just 50% lung function (thank god for Trikafta he is up from lung function in 20's), he faces challenges every day that most of us can't even begin to imagine. But through it all, he continues to rise above the obstacles. He's been through so much in his young life, and every time life has thrown him a curveball, he's come out stronger, braver, and more determined than ever.
I am incredibly proud to be his mom. Beyond his resilience, Brendon has the most beautiful soul. His empathy and kindness shine through every day, and he's always thinking about others, even when he's the one who needs support. I've learned so much from him, and his strength inspires me constantly.
There is currently no cure for Cystic Fibrosis!! CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure. Every person born with this disease is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently.
This Walkathon is not just about raising funds for research and awareness-it's about celebrating his strength and the amazing Village that surrounds him. We would be so grateful if you would consider joining us on this walk. Your presence and support would mean the world to us. Together, we can help raise funds for Cystic Fibrosis research and give my son, and many others, hope for a brighter future. The Walk is at Holtsville Park & Zoo Sunday June 8th. BBQ immediately after at our house
If you're unable to walk with us, please consider making a donation to help us reach our fundraising goal. Every bit counts, and your support is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for standing with us as we continue to fight this battle together.
With Love and Gratitude,
Christine & Brendon
