There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality for others because this was the reality for my family.

We're walking in memory of my cousin Josh, who bravely battled cystic fibrosis with a strength and spirit that inspired everyone around him. Josh was the kind of person who could light up a room no matter how bad he was feeling—always cracking jokes and making people laugh. He was incredibly kind, endlessly resilient, and full of life. Josh followed his passion for cooking and went to culinary school, eventually working at Bonefish Grill, where he poured his heart into every dish. Though we lost him in 2012, his memory continues to motivate us. We're walking to honor his life and help others fighting the same battle.

During my undergraduate studies, I met Peter in a statistics course, and he quickly became one of my best friends. His personality, strength, resilience, perseverance, and zeal for life were truly unforgettable. Even while facing his own battle with cystic fibrosis, Peter was always there to support and encourage me through my own struggles. His selflessness and unwavering positivity left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Sadly, he passed away in 2020, but I will never forget his contagious smile and infectious laugh. I'm walking in his memory as well, to honor his life and spirit.

CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.

Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.

Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?

By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
