Alaya’s Angels
As many of you may know, our sweet baby Alaya was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at just under a month old. While the news was devastating, we were comforted by our CF community with kind words, such as, “She is going to flourish! The CF foundation has made so much progress and we are SO MUCH closer to a cure!”
Alaya was 2 months old when she contracted RSV, which landed her in a long 12 day hospitalization. Our doctor at the time came to visit us, and gave us the news that the amazing new drug Trikafta was approved for adults, and trials for kids were underway. We cried together! It is not easy seeing your child sick in a hospital bed connected to machines, but that sure helped bring our spirits up. She has now been on Trikafta for over a year and her health has been AMAZING!
