all! My son Owen was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at just a week old. It was a lot of emotions and learning for brand new parents, as well as two people had who never even heard of the disease! After lots and lots of appointments, medications and breathing treatments, we're finally on a good treatment route and Owen has been doing great! He's 2 now and loves his trucks, dancing and playing outside! Nothing has been slowing him down and with efforts like this!

Right now, most of the treatments for Owen are to treat symptoms and ensure he continues to be a bubbly active kid who can grow into an awesome adult, but there are also many needs that people with CF have throughout their lifetimes. Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other organs. It is progressive, meaning that it gets worse over time and there is currently no cure. Strides have been made and now life expectancy has doubled in the last 30 years due to research funded by walks just like this.

My family and I have decided to walk today so that we can help Owen and others like him achieve their dreams. Fundraisers can help make that a reality and ensure that all people with CF live a comfortable, fulfilling life.
