My connection to CF is very deep. Besides having gotten a PhD in pharmacology at Emory University while studying cystic fibrosis related diabetes, I'm also married to Alex, a courageous man living with cystic fibrosis. When he was diagnosed as an infant back in our home country, Paraguay, his parents were told his chances of making it to adulthood were very slim. That was 31 years ago! We are now married and have two wonderful sons. He also has a PhD and is working full time. He has definitely defied all odds! However, during those 31 years he has faced many challenges, the biggest one being a double lung transplant in August of 2025. I'm beyond amazed by his incredible dedication and resilience, especially during the transplant recovery process (transplants come with their own set of challenges). We recognize that Alex wouldn't be here without all the scientific and medical advances made possible by organizations such as the CF Foundation. We are beyond thankful for all the work they do to advance scientific discovery and improve patients' lives. I'm now looking to run a 5K at the Publix Atlanta Marathon to celebrate Alex's 6-month transplant anniversary while raising funds for the CF Foundation. Please support my campaign if you can!

Until CF stands for "Cure Found"!

Best,
Analía
