Great Strides is upon us! Saturday, May 10th is the yearly walk to support the fight against cystic fibrosis.
The advancements made in the past few years—in large part to your support—make me very hopeful for the futures of everyone with CF, most especially my niece Emerson, who has a very bright future ahead of her.
Every day, we are working to build on this incredible momentum, but there are still many more steps to be taken.
1. While Trikafta virtually eradicated my cough, it's not a cure-all. CF negatively impacts so many parts of the body like the pancreas, kidneys, and GI tract...and I and many others still manage those health issues daily.
2. Trikafta has halted a lot of damage (especially in the lungs), but it's not reversing damage from the past.
3. We know adults with CF have higher risk of osteoporosis and cancer, but we don't know why. There are many unknowns about aging with CF—because for the first time in history, there are more adults than children living with the disease.
But the Foundation's work is being stifled by reckless cuts to both the FDA and the NIH. Research is being paused, scaled back, or shelved. This will no doubt impede advancements in CF treatment and care for years to come.
And this is why your support is still so important. Our work isn't done yet.
So on May 10, our team (Seananigans) is once again participating in Great Strides. If you can, please donate to help fund advocacy and critical research. I'd also encourage you to send a message to your representatives urging them to restore FDA/NIH funding and protect medical research for CF treatments and those of countless other diseases.
Because it's always good to remember what we're fighting for: Cystic fibrosis is a rare, genetic, life-shortening disease that makes it difficult to breathe, among other complications. For over 30 years, Great Strides – the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s largest national fundraising event – has supported the Foundation’s mission to cure cystic fibrosis. Nearly every CF drug out there has been made possible by the Foundation, and because of funds raised from Great Strides, people with CF are living longer, healthier lives and pursuing their dreams.

Steph and I are looking to the Foundation to lead the charge into the next frontier of CF care—focusing on improving long-term quality of life, reversing damaging scar tissue, and fulfilling our mission to make CF = cure found.

Donating is easy and secure. Any amount that you can contribute is greatly appreciated. Your gift will help add tomorrows to the lives of people with cystic fibrosis by supporting groundbreaking research and medical progress towards a cure. Please help me reach my fundraising goal!
