CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
As a long time CF care team member, volunteering for the CF Great Strides event is deeply meaningful to me both professionally and personally. Every day, I have the privilege of caring for individuals and families affected by CF, and participating in Great Strides allows me to stand beside them outside the clinical setting in support, hope, and community.
This event is more than just a fundraiser — it is an opportunity to raise awareness, celebrate progress in CF care, and continue advocating for a future where everyone with CF can live longer, healthier lives. Our care team proudly joins together each year alongside patients, families, friends, and supporters to walk for this important cause.
What makes this especially meaningful is that my own family also participates, showing our shared commitment to the CF community. Seeing healthcare providers, loved ones, and families come together reminds us that no one fights CF alone.
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.
Every donation helps support vital research, treatments, advocacy, and care programs that continue to make a difference in the lives of those living with CF. Thank you for supporting Great Strides and helping us move closer to a cure.
