Kent Crusaders!! Welcome back! We have officially reached our teenage era of walk seasons. Cohen's first Great Strides was at 7 months old, making this our 13th year. This will be Harper's 10th. We can't hardly believe it. The walk locations have changed. Our shirts and swag have changed, but one thing remains consistent and that's the unwavering support of YOU!! How blessed are we, that we have you in our court?! On our side, you've prayed, supported, and financially gave of yourselves, so that these warriors and their buddy warriors, have a fighting chance at more tomorrows.
Both Cohen and Harper are thriving. They are doing what any other 9 & 12 year old kid would be doing and that's EXACTLY the goal and point. They live life to the fullest and do their best, not to let CF have a huge impact on their day to day. However, they're still putting in the work. They still spend extra hours every day, doing their treatments, taking their meds and make sure they take in enough calories. They also both participate in clinical research for the betterment of drug advancements and their health. We are beyond proud of the Kent 6 fam, for taking on this challenge as a whole and not letting Co & Harp feel as if this is their disease, but rather our disease and we fight it together.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
