This September, Sinisia and I are lacing up our shoes to run the Berlin Marathon—not just for the challenge and our need to be challenged, but for a cause deeply personal to us: raising funds and awareness for cystic fibrosis.
Sinisia and I have been bantering back and forth about fitness ever since turning 40. I guess this is our mid-life crisis, no corvette, no motorcycle, no bad decision. Just constant texts while he lives in Paris and me in the same city I grew up in, who is faster, who has a better VO2 Max and then...lets run a marathon. But equally important to this guys trip is the cause we have decided to raise money for.
We are running for our incredible childhood friend, Missy Bass. If you’ve ever met Missy, you know she’s a spark—an unstoppable force of joy, humor, and energy. Despite living with cystic fibrosis, she continues to defy every limit the disease tries to set. She is the life of every party, the first to laugh, the last to leave the dance floor, and a constant source of inspiration for everyone lucky enough to know her.
Cystic fibrosis is a relentless, life-shortening genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system, making the everyday act of breathing a battle.
Every dollar raised goes directly toward research, treatments, and ultimately, a cure for cystic fibrosis. We would be incredibly grateful if you’d consider supporting this effort. Whether it’s $10 or $100, your donation brings us one step closer to a future where CF stands for “Cure Found.”
