Running for Breath, Running for Cystic Fibrosis.
Fundraising for Boston Marathon 2026
Reginald Jacques
This year, I’m running the Boston Marathon for something far bigger than a finish line. I’m running to raise awareness and support for cystic fibrosis.
Cystic fibrosis isn’t just a disease I read about. It’s a mission I live every day. I work for a company focused on bringing new treatment options to patients living with CF. I have seen firsthand the dedication, science, and urgency behind improving lives. But I have also seen how much more needs to be done.
Running has always been part of who I am. My goal has been to complete the Six Star Marathon journey, a dream that once felt unstoppable. Until it wasn’t.
After suffering a severe stress fracture during the Tokyo marathon, I was told my marathon days might be over. The physical pain was real, but the emotional toll of thinking that dream was gone was even harder. I had to rebuild slowly, patiently, and humbly.
When the opportunity came to run the Boston Marathon and fundraise for cystic fibrosis, everything came full circle. This race isn’t just about completing my Six Star journey.
It’s about running for every patient who doesn’t get to choose when they struggle for breath.
It’s about running for families who face CF every single day.
There is no greater cause I could run for.
If you’re able, I ask you to support this mission. Every donation, big or small, helps advance awareness, research, and hope for those living with cystic fibrosis.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me.
