For quite some time I’ve wanted to participate in a CF 5K race with my granddaughter Linley to support Cystic Fibrosis. She was diagnosed at birth and is now 9 years old. Even though I am not a runner, this is something I really wanted to do. I have been searching for a race for a few years but there was nothing close to Minnesota. I was super excited when I found out Grandma’s Marathon in Duluth, MN decided to partner with Cystic Fibrosis this year. The 5K race will be held on Friday, June 20th. My #1 goal is to help support research in hopes of a cure. My #2 goal is to cross the finish line with Linley by my side. My #3 goal is to ask others to help me achieve both goal #1 and #2 by supporting me on this adventure. I appreciate anyone willing to support and help Linley and I raise funds for CF as well as achieve this challenge.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
