It's hard to believe that Madeline is now 17 years old! We can't believe how fast time flies and how she has grown into a strong and healthy teen. She is finishing up her 11th grade year. As a junior, Madeline is member of the marching band drumline (snare drum), the wind symphony band (the school's most senior band), as well as an audition only choir.  She is also a member of her school's TED-ED club, where students write and make speeches on a topic of their choice.  Madeline's presentation on the nature of competition was selected and published on the student TED-ED channel on YouTube: View Madeline's TED-ED talk here. She's also researching and visiting colleges and getting ready for the SAT.

Madeline's lung health has been very steady. We are thankful for the great care that she continues to receive at Johns Hopkins, and for Alyftrek, the newest CF modulator that helps correct some of the underlying defects of CF. This new drug has less side effects than the previous generation of CF modulators, and was made possible by funding from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  Her work never ends though: she still takes countless pills when she eats, balances her treatments with afterschool activities, and takes extra precautions to avoid getting sick.

Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?

By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
