James Flynn
It is a privilege to be representing the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and running the 2025 Chicago Marathon along side daughter Anna (Flynn) Horn.
Since 2001, our family has been impacted from every high and low imaginable at the hands of CF. For nearly two decades, we endured sleepless nights in the PICU, necessary surgeries of all types, breathing treatments and iv therapies from home, while on vacation or even school.
Pediatric Pulmonary Teams throughout the Midwest, nurses, and caregivers of all kinds have been relentless to help fight this disease and provide a sense of hope.
Personally, our family has participated in countless trials to help understand the disease, held annual fundraisers, and made countless sacrifices to keep moving forward so that people like Anna feel that same hope.
In 2019, the breakthrough drug gene therapy Trikafta became available and has forever changed each and every day for a majority of CF people. Anna herself has been able to make possible some of her dreams. With improved lung function and overall health, she can continue pursing even more and live a long life.
Unfortunately, not all CF people have the same response from this medication, nor are all the resources in place to ensure its benefits. We still need events to fund expanded research and fight for everyone living with cystic fibrosis.
Please help us drive the sense of hope, provide more tomorrows, and make CF stand for Cure Found.
