✨ Join Us for the Great Strides Walk in Corpus Christi! ✨

This year marks our third time participating in the Great Strides event, and I’m so thankful to be here to share my journey with you. Many of you know that I was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis (CF) as a baby. Doctors once told my family I wouldn’t make it past my first birthday—but here I am, 21 years later (in my second semester of nursing school), living proof that with faith, perseverance, and medical advances, anything is possible.

By the grace of God, my lungs remain strong, but CF still impacts my daily life in other ways. This year, I was also diagnosed with CF-related diabetes and now manage it with a Dexcom and insulin pump. I take multiple medications every day—before meals, in the morning, and at night—to help my body function and prevent severe pain. One treatment that has been life-changing is Trikafta, a breakthrough therapy that helps repair the faulty CF gene. Since starting this medication, my health has improved tremendously—my doctors are amazed, and my family has noticed a huge difference. Best of all, my lung function has remained normal, giving me the gift of fewer treatments and more freedom.

However, these medical advances come at an incredible cost. Just one of my medications costs over $300,000 a year—which would not be possible without the generous support of research funding and donors like you. That’s why we walk. On Saturday, October 4th, 2025, we’ll be joining the Great Strides Walk in Corpus Christi to raise money for continued research, life-changing medications, and the hope of one day fully repairing the CF gene.
