My Great Strides Story

It is that time of year I love to show you the progress of Reagan and Kennedy.
As we leave February and enter into Spring, we start thinking about Great Strides. The walk is May 17 and Hobey and I are hoping to attend this year. The reason is twofold. One we want to show our support to the family and participate in the walk and the other is to meet our new grandson Duke. Kelsey is due to deliver the last week in March and we are all so excited. Of course our prayer is that he does not have CF but they know how to deal with it if he does and there are two adoring daughters that can help.
Kennedy and Reagan are doing well with some ups and downs during the year. Tricafta is working beautifully for them and there are always new drugs coming along that can help too. The FDA just approved a new non opioid pain reliever for CF people and other diseases. It's Journavx. This could be huge for them. The girls still do their doctor visits in Denver once a month and continue with vest treatments. Reagan and Kennedy stay very active snow skiing in the winter and surfboarding and wakeboarding in the summer along with basketball, volleyball and swimming. This is so helpful to keep their lungs healthy. Andrew and Kelsey work hard to keep the girls involved.
We did take the kids on a cruise over Thanksgiving and although the Vances didn't have to lug their vests, Kelsey did take half her suitcase full of pills. Every time the girls snacked or had an ice cream cone ( which was quite often) they would have to have pills to help digest. They take it all in stride, it is amazing to watch.
