My CF Cycle for Life Story

Fundraising for Pittsburgh CF Cycle for Life
Mary Ann Wilson
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis but current research is getting us closer and closer to that miracle. I’m cycling to help make a cure HAPPEN. This is our beautiful 12 year old granddaughter Natalie. Every day she takes medication, many enzymes before every meal and snack and does at least an hour of Vibration Vest therapy along with breathing treatments. She needs to fit all of this into her day, EVERY day. She has no choice if she wants to stay healthy.
Research has come a long long way even since she was born towards the final goal, A CURE! I believe she will see that day hopefully soon but research cannot happen without the funds to do it. The last phase, gene editing is the most costly so far. Please join me in our Race to the Cure!
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
