Dear Family and Friends,
John just turned 36. That's a miracle, considering the average life span for someone with CF when he was born, was 12-14 years.
And we are very grateful for his health, his attitude, motivation, energy, long bike rides, job, his marriage to Chelsea (10 years!), 3-year-old Leo, and now a baby girl due in early October! More miracles!
There didn't used to be adults with CF. But improved treatments, better medications (like Trikafta), and enhanced airway clearance, are all making people with Cystic Fibrosis healthier and able to live longer. And we thank you, because your donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation have enabled much of this progress.
But a CF adult faces challenges the rest of us do not. They are more susceptible to liver disease, GI cancers, CF-Related Diabetes, and intestinal blockages (like John was born with.) That's why the CFF says, "We will not rest until there is a cure."
So again, we are asking for your support in search of a cure. Which would be the ultimate miracle.
