"I used to have Cystic Fibrosis."
That's what I want John to say in the near future. I want his 37 years of dealing with all the side effects of CF to be in the past. And that's why I do CF Climb every year and ask for donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. It's one of the most successful non-profits at raising money and turning it into real medical breakthroughs, like John's "miracle drug" from 2019: Trikafta, and now: Alyftrek. They're the first to treat the underlying cause of CF.
But there is still no cure. So along with my team, "Shut up, Legs", I will climb 4,000 steps at Coors Field on Saturday, July 25. After about 300 steps, I'll be sucking wind and I'll know how many people with CF feel as they struggle to breathe.
John and Chelsea will celebrate 11 years of marriage on July 12. They are the parents of 4 year-old Leo and almost 9 month-old Kaia. What a dream come true! John is still the most positive, motivated, "live life to the fullest" guy I know. God willing, he will have many more years to enjoy and to raise those kiddos.
Most of you know that Jolly has been fighting the return of his throat cancer the last 6 months. It's been brutal and very challenging. But many prayers were answered and the cancer is GONE! And he plans to climb this year, too.
"Gone" is where we want Cystic Fibrosis to be, too.
Thank you for any donation you'd like to make. Please know that you make a difference in the lives of those living with CF.
With grateful hearts and lots of love,
Janet and Jolly
