Running for my Husband
Megan Johnson
Fundraising for Disneyland® Halloween Half Marathon Weekend
Megan Johnson
I had heard of cystic fibrosis but didn't know a whole lot about it until I met my husband, Levi. He's taught me a lot, but I've also tried to educate myself and learn the best ways to support him in his journey with this disease.
Levi is my whole world, and I can't fathom the day that I won't have him in my life. Unfortunately, with cystic fibrosis it's a very real likelihood I will outlive the love of my life.
I won't delve too much into his personal story, as that is his journey to share. Just know he is doing really well in his current health and quickly approaching 30 years old!
I'm running this event not only for my husband but for everyone who fights cystic fibrosis every day!
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.

I threw pacing to the wind and decided to just listen to what my body wanted to do. And wouldn’t ya know it, I crushed it! I think this run might’ve been the one, the turning point where I feel like I’m actually becoming a runner 🏃♀️🤗

Not my best run but at least we got one on the books today! We tried out pacing by .1 mile intervals and apparently that just threw me off!

Babies first 10k 🤗 I definitely slowed down the last couple miles but I set the goal of running a 10k today and I accomplished that so that’s a win in my book.

I’m not going to lie, today’s run was rough. I’ll admit I haven’t been fueling my body as well as I should and that really showed today 😣 I just didn’t have the energy to keep going for a second lap.

Today was an awesome run! I set so many new PR’s for myself. It was definitely my new running vest giving me all the boost I needed 😋 Fun fact, Levi ran a half marathon (13.1 miles) yesterday “just to see how far” he could go.

Gave the Sparks Marina a try for today’s run. We quite liked it, I think we’ll definitely be back!

Ended up at 3.5 miles today when we took a new route. I did end up walking the last mile or so after having the most excruciating side cramp 😣

We’re back baby! 🏃♀️🏃♂️ After a bit of a hiatus due to lots of traveling and getting sick 🤒 we’re back on our grind! 1.53 miles with an avg pace of 16:39 /mile Not too shabby for taking two months off!
