There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m running to help change that reality.

Almost 14 years ago we lost a very important person in all of our lives. Ben Reid carried a CF diagnosis which never put him off being a normal kid. From the outside looking in you would never have realised that Ben was in any way effected by the disease and he never in any way let his illness hinder his social life. From this, he allowed a lot of people to have the blessing of building friendships and relationships which helped shaped many people in our friend groups future.

Ben unfortunately passed away in an accident which was unrelated to CF. His passing effected so many people in different ways, however for me, losing someone who was so vibrant and loveable taught me a lesson which I've tried my hardest to live by. Friendship is a blessing and how you treat the loved ones you have in your life is so important because you will never know how long you have with them.

Those with CF have an even shorter life span than those who do not suffer with the disease. To have other people who are like Ben out there and know they have a limited amount of times with there friends, family and loved ones isn't right.

Please donate to try and help keep those who are like Ben on earth for longer because there is no doubt that life would be better for everyone if they had a person like Ben in their lives.

On what will be very close to his 14th anniversary I'll be running the Dublin Marathon listening wearing a pair of red aviators

Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?

By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
