In 12 weeks’ time, on October 26th, I’ll be standing on the start line of the Dublin Marathon – my very first official marathon – and I couldn’t be more excited to finally take on this challenge.

Two years ago, I moved my entire life away from anything that was familiar to me.

And whilst incredibly exciting, I lost direction for my physical health.

I started running as a way to bring some balance into my hectic life, and what began as a hobby quickly became a passion.

Running has done so much for me: it’s been a constant for my mental health, a driver for my physical fitness, and a way to explore and connect with a new life.

It’s allowed me to achieve things I wasn’t sure I was capable of, and now I want to push myself to another level by completing 26.2 miles.

But this marathon isn’t just about me.

It’s about something far bigger and far closer to my heart.

I’m running to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a charity that means so much to me and my family.

My nephew Jack was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth, and ever since then we’ve seen first-hand the challenges that come with living with this condition.

Despite this, Jack is one of the most resilient and incredible young men you will ever see.

His passion for overcoming these challenges inspires me everyday, and it will continue to inspire me as I aim to make a difference for him and those like him.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust does incredible work in research, support, and care – work that makes a real difference to people like Jack every single day.

I’ve set myself two ambitious goals for this journey;

1️⃣ To train as hard as I can over the next 12 weeks and achieve a sub 3:50 time on the day.

2️⃣ To raise an incredible £1,500 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, helping them continue their vital work for everyone living with this condition.

I like to think of myself as someone who enjoys pressure, so sharing these targets will act as another motivator for me to do everything I can to achieve these goals.

Every single donation – big or small – will mean the world to me and to my family.

It will keep me motivated through every mile of training and every step of the marathon itself.

If you can, please support me on this journey and help make a difference.

Thank you so much for your support! 🏃‍♂️
