Ava's Fight For A Cure
Welcome to Ava & Chase’s Fight For A Cure
Hi! We're Ava and Chase, and this year we’re hiking in the Gateway Xtreme Hike to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation—a cause that means everything to us.
Ava lives with cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that mostly affects the lungs and digestive system. It’s something we face together every day—from early mornings at the hospital, long clinic visits, and hours spent managing treatments and symptoms. It’s a lot, but we’ve learned how to make space for joy and normalcy right alongside it.
This hike is our way of pushing back. It's a challenge, but one we’re choosing—because CF doesn’t give anyone a choice. We’re doing this for a future with better treatments, more time, and ultimately, a cure.
Quick facts about CF:
Chase has been there through all of it. Waiting rooms, pharmacy runs, quiet days when energy is low—he’s never once made me feel like I’m doing this alone. This hike is one more step we’re taking together.
Whether you’re here to donate, join the team, or just read our story—thank you. Every bit of support matters.

Quick facts about CF:
- It’s a progressive genetic disease that impacts multiple organs, especially lungs and digestion.
- Most people with CF do hours of breathing treatments and take dozens of pills every single day.
- There is no cure yet—but your support helps fund research that’s getting us closer.
Chase has been there through all of it. Waiting rooms, pharmacy runs, quiet days when energy is low—he’s never once made me feel like I’m doing this alone. This hike is one more step we’re taking together.
