In 2015, I was welcomed into an incredible community—advocates, families, friends, and individuals living with cystic fibrosis—who commit to hiking 30.1 miles in a single day to raise awareness and funds to help make “CF” stand for Cure Found.

What began as a physical challenge quickly became something more—a lifelong mission to support progress toward a cure for cystic fibrosis.

💜 Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a progressive genetic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system. People with CF often battle thick, sticky mucus that can clog airways and trap bacteria, leading to severe lung infections. While treatments have come a long way, there is still no cure.

In 2021, I hiked with Team Breathe Deep for the first time and officially joined the team in 2022. Every mile we walk is fueled by purpose, hope, and the strength of the community that surrounds this cause.

As 1 Thessalonians 5:11 reminds us:

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”

Everything really is better when you’re walking alongside friends—especially when the journey is about something bigger than yourself.
