We're so back! Year 13, which is our last year as Team Isabelle; a sad realization, but means that everyone who has fought for a cure for Isabelle and other CF patients are making progress! Together, we've raised $965,000 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. We're on the cusp of reaching one million dollars - a milestone that once seemed like an impossible dream
Last year, which was my first year as a hiker, I attempted to do 30.1 miles, but after 22 miles, unfortunately could not finish due to the conditions of the day and myself. This year I WILL cross that line, and I will do it with every ounce of spirit I have and I will do it with my dad. John Tierney, is coming up on his 11th year as a hiker for the Xtreme Hike and I have watched him give his whole heart to this organization for years as his daughter. To grow up watching my dad's dedication to Cystic Fibrosis research has made me so proud; no matter how busy the man gets, he's always putting others needs before his own and is setting an example to all his colleagues, friends, and family on how important it is to give back. Alongside watching my dad, John has also turned his passion and drive towards getting his company AXIA involved too, which has since been merged with Huron as of late 2024. Men and women from all over the country that are apart of AXIA/Huron have joined in on the Xtreme Hike and have shown such selflessness in their efforts for this organization.
Personally, this Hike has changed my life in endless ways. Physically, mentally, and emotionally I have grown into myself and the volunteers and other hikers are whom to thank. Mark is my God-Father and Dana is my "Fairy God-Mother", and Isabelle and I have grown up alongside each other. Seeing how much passion and drive Mark and Dana have to find a cure for CF is truly inspiring, and no matter what, there was never a time they didn't show up for me, so I plan on finishing out Team Isabelle with the utmost energy and drive.
I've volunteered at several Xtreme Hikes and Cystic Fibrosis events, and I'm thrilled to be hiking for the second year! My passion for community service has flourished through organizations like Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity, and I even traveled to Costa Rica to help transform a school into an intentional learning community. At Mizzou, I was part of the Chi Omega Fraternity, Rho-Alpha chapter, where I served on the philanthropy committee and as Director of Philanthropy, working with Make-A-Wish to grant wishes for Wish Kids. Organizing fundraisers and connecting with our Wish family are cherished college memories.
After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia, I am a proud Keeley'n at Keeley Construction Group in St. Louis, MO where I serve as a Commercial Interior Designer. I'm grateful for Keeley's commitment to values, particularly philanthropy, through KeeleyCares, which encourages employees to engage in community involvement by volunteering our time, talent, and treasure. I also serve as a KeeleyLife Champion, as apart of Keeley's core value of sustaining a culture of health and well-being for all Keeley'ns and their families.
Let's take Team Isabelle to the finish line one last time together. UNTIL IT ENDS!
