My 5th Year Hiking for a Cure – 30.1 Miles for Cystic Fibrosis
Fundraising for Gateway Xtreme Hike
Jeffery Vag
On Saturday, September 27, 2025, I’ll be taking on the Extreme Hike for Cystic Fibrosis—my 5th year in a row—and this time, I’m going the distance: 30.1 miles through the Missouri wilderness!
Why do I do this? Because it combines my favorite things: supporting a great cause, being outdoors, hiking, spending time with friends and family—and yes, enjoying a little (or a lot) of adult beverages along the way!
But over the years, this hike has become so much more than that. As I’ve learned and seen firsthand the stories of people living with cystic fibrosis, the impact of this event has grown deeply personal. It’s about hope, progress, and fighting for a cure.
I’ll be honest—I failed to complete the 30-mile hike my first two attempts. But I didn’t give up. The last two years, I crossed that finish line, and this year, I’m determined to do it again.
I’ve set a fundraising goal of $2,500, and I’d love your support. Every donation—big or small—makes a real difference for those living with CF.
