My grandson, Jonas Scott, was born with Cystic Fibrosis. For the first two weeks of his life he wasn't able to gain weight. My daughter was taking him to the doctor every other day for weight ins. We couldn't figure out why. Then my daughter receive. A call from the pediatrician. His newborn testing came back - he has Cystic Fibrosis with pancreatic insufficiency. Within hours we were on a conference call with a doctor, nutritionist, and the social worker at the CF Clinic. They explained what this meant for Jonas. A few days later Jonas had his first clinic appointment. We started treatment and Jonas started gaining weight! It's not going to be an easy road but thanks to research made possible by donations from people like you to the CF Foundation there IS a road. Life expectancy for people with CF had increased tremendously over the past decade but we can't stop there. Please consider making a donation and/or joining our team to Walk for a Cure.
There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I'm walking to help change that reality.
CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?
By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward - a cure for everyone with CF.
