Heather and Jeremy's Xtreme Hike!
Fundraising for Grand Canyon Fall Xtreme Hike 2026
Heather Smith
This year marks a huge milestone for me—my 10th Xtreme Hike with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation! To celebrate, I'm taking on my biggest challenge yet: hiking the Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim.
Making this adventure even more special, Jeremy is joining me for his first Xtreme Hike since 2019. Together, we're training every day, logging miles on the trails, climbing hills, and even embracing North Carolina's 90-degree heat to prepare for what promises to be an unforgettable journey.
While the Grand Canyon will test our endurance, our "why" is far greater than the miles we'll hike.
There is still no cure for cystic fibrosis, and too many people with CF die far too young.
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic, life-shortening disease that affects the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. It makes it difficult to breathe, fight infections, and live without constant medical care. Although incredible progress has been made, every person with CF experiences the disease differently, and many are still waiting for the breakthrough that will allow them to live long, healthy lives.
That's why we hike.
Every step we take helps fund the research, treatments, and scientific discoveries that move us closer to one goal: a cure for everyone with cystic fibrosis.
If you're able, we'd be incredibly grateful if you would support our journey with a donation. Every gift—large or small—makes a real difference and brings hope to thousands of families affected by CF.
Thank you for encouraging us, cheering us on, and believing in this mission. We'll be sharing our training and Grand Canyon adventure along the way, and we can't wait to take you with us on this incredible journey.
Together, we can help end cystic fibrosis.
With gratitude,
Heather & Jeremy
