My Xtreme Hike Story

Fundraising for Grand Canyon Fall Xtreme Hike 2026

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.
I joined the CF Extreme Hike last year to support hikers of family and friends of those with CF who were fundraising to find a cure. Their stories of how the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's work have dramatically improved the lives of their family members with CF were heartwarming. They shared how, within the past decade, the foundation's work has led to the development of the drug Trikafta which has changed the lives for their family members from constant hospital stays and dire prognosis, to be able to live nearly normal lives.
Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.
I'm supporting these hikers again and humbly ask for your financial support toward the CF Foundation as they work to find a cure.
