There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m hiking to help change that reality.

CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.

Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.

Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?

By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.

Long walk/hike yesterday. Not much elevation but 15 miles and 4+ hours on my feet. Lots of bridges and a walkabout of Ocean City. Felt good.

I need elevation and there isn't really any in Ocean City or close by, so off the the gym to hike the treadmill at max grade. Boring and the gym has the machines set to go off at 30 minutes, so had to keep restarting. Ended up getting in about 4 miles and 4190' of elevation gain.

The Old Brandt Mine in Deep Creek State Park

Deep Creek Lake State Park Hiking Trail

I was able to get out to some real hiking this weekend in Deep Creek State Park. Longest hike yet - about 12.5 miles and 1700' of elevation. Feeling good and on the way to being prepared for the R2R next month!

Another boring training hike back and forth over the bridge! I expect the actual hike to be more challenging physically but less challenging mentally with so many exciting things to see. The bridge is monotonous, but it's really the only elevation around here.

Longest training hike in South Jersey so far. 6 Longport Bridge repeats. Very boring but nice weather and good entertainment with a New Heights podcast.

Start to the Pike’s Peak Highway

Out cycling this week in Colorado. Took some time to squeeze in a hike up the Pike’s Peak Highway. Nice to have some elevation and beautiful views.

View from the top of Mt. Tammany

Second hike day was at Mt. Tammany. It's supposed to be the hardest hike in NJ. We did it twice to get in some elevation and test out new shoes. Fun hike. Very warm and great views from the top. Saw a bear driving to the trailhead and a doe and fawn during the hike. Feeling good about my fitness and readiness for the hike.

View from the top of Stairway to Heaven

Headed to North Jersey for some real climbing. Two days of hiking near the Delaware Water Gap hiking the two hardest hikes in NJ. Day 1 - Stairway to Heaven in Vernon, NJ. Did the full hike once and the last steep part a second time & felt great.

Longport bridge going up towards Longport - highest elevation in the area!

Longer bridge hike yesterday with the new hiking shoes. Shoes felt great and the extra time on the bridge felt easy. Training coming along nicely. 7.6 miles and 662 ft of climbing.

OCHS bleachers with boardwalk ferris wheel in back

Workout #3 moved from the bridges to OCHS for some bleacher fun. Another hot day. Legs burning after that one.

Going up the Longport Bridge

More bridge fun on workout #2 - repeats on the Longport bridge. Another hot day!

Started my training last week. Hard to find any elevation in South Jersey but we have bridges here. First training - over the 9th street bridge & back. Temp close to 100 with a real feel of about 110.
