I've been practicing as a pharmacist in an adult CF care centers for almost 9 years. Connecting with my patients, educating on complex medication regimens, and ensuring affordable access to medical care are my main goals.

The job has had a lot of high points:
-Seeing patients graduate college
-Cheering them on as they pursue their dream jobs
-Celebrating as they get married and start families
-Seeing new medication come to market that change the course and trajectory of the life of a person with CF.

But there have been a lot of low points too:
-Crying at the bedside with a family as a patient leaves the world too soon
-Seeing people struggle with comorbidities that make it impossible for them to continue in their dream job
-Seeing how discouraged people with rare mutations feel as new and life changing medications come out, but they do not qualify to take them.

There is currently no cure for cystic fibrosis and too many people with CF die young. I’m walking to help change that reality.

CF is a genetic, life-shortening disease that devastates the lungs, pancreas, and other vital organs. CF makes it difficult to breathe and fight life-threatening infections, often leading to extensive lung damage and respiratory failure.

Every person born with cystic fibrosis is on a unique journey and experiences this challenging disease differently. While progress has been made, a long road lies ahead for far too many people fighting this terrible disease. We need a cure so that everyone with CF has a better chance to live a long, healthy life.

Will you help us end cystic fibrosis?

I have seen the impact of donations to the CF Foundation impact my patients first hand. Money raised has helped support many aspects of CF Care, but one of the biggest ways is by supporting research grants. I have seen medications supported by such grants come to the market and provide life changing impacts on patients' lives. But not all patient currently qualify for these life changing therapies.  By donating to my fundraising goal, you have the power to advance the research and science needed to drive our shared dream forward – a cure for everyone with CF.
