If you know me, you know that brothers are at the core of who I am. I am who I am because of my brothers, and I know the heartbreak of losing one. Since my brother’s passing, I’ve been searching for ways to give back and to honor the memory of those who leave us too soon.
There is no person I am more honored to run for than Charlie Tufts, who lost his battle with Cystic Fibrosis at just 33 years old.
Although I never had the privilege of meeting Charlie, I’ve learned how deeply he touched the lives of those around him. Diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of two, Charlie and his brothers faced challenges that most of us could never imagine. And yet, Charlie turned his struggle into something powerful: in 2013, he founded the Charlie Tufts Cystic Fibrosis Softball Tournament, which has since raised more than $500,000 for research and support.
On October 26, I will run the Marine Corps Marathon in Charlie’s honor - to celebrate his life, his resilience, and the love he poured into his community. Each mile will be for Charlie, for his brothers, and for everyone affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
By donating to this fundraiser, you’ll be supporting critical research and resources that bring us closer to a cure. More importantly, you’ll be helping to continue Charlie’s legacy of hope and generosity.
Thank you for supporting me on this journey. Together, we can run toward a future without Cystic Fibrosis. 💜
